Halloween 2008
The Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce has announced this year’s winners of the Guessing Contests that were scattered throughout the town as a part of the Trick or Treating downtown held on October 31. The winners are as follows:
Sophia Singer, age 8, guessed 95 spiders, and there were 93, she wins a $50 Chatham Gift Check donated by ISP Chatham. Sophia lives in Chatham.
Nicole Kaye, age 10, guessed 85 eyeballs and there were 82, she wins a $50 Visa card, courtesy of Commerce Bank, now TD Bank. Nicole also lives in Chatham.
Megan Wu, age 4, guessed 350 candy corn and there were 357. She wins a trio of Shining Star stuffed animals, courtesy of Liberty Drug and Surgical. Megan resides in Chatham.
Angelo Twomey, age 5, guessed 151 marshmallow ghosts, while there were 149. Angelo, of Madison, also wins three Shining Star stuffed animals donated by Liberty Drug and Surgical.
Johnathon Guerroro, age 3 estimated 352 flies and larvae in the jar, when in actuality there were 354. Johnathon, who resides in Chatham, wins a $50 Chatham Gift Check courtesy of ISP Chatham.
Thanks goes out to all the families who brought their kids downtown for a great afternoon of safe and fun Trick or Treating. This event was sponsored by the Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce and made possible by the participation of our Chatham downtown community. Halloween is coming and once again Chatham will come alive with ghosts, goblins, clowns and princesses. This year the Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring “Trick or Treating Downtown” on Friday October 31st from 3pm-5pm. Downtown business will open their doors and hand out goodies to Chatham’s kids aged 1-12 dressed in costume.
The Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce will be handing out trick or treat bags sponsored by Allstate Insurance and the Work Family Connection. Be sure to stop by the Gazebo to pick up your bag. These bags will be filled with coupons, giveaways, and treats donated by various Chamber of Commerce members.
There will be guessing contests throughout the town. Look for these in front of Chase’s branch (next to the post office), in front of Liberty Drug, in front of Village Hardware, at Reasoner Park near the Gazebo, and one mystery location. Be sure to enter all 5 for increased chances to win! There will be prizes for all guessing contests; these prizes have been donated by Liberty Drug & Surgical, ISP Chatham, and Commerce Bank. Winners will be notified by phone by Monday November 3rd. Prizes will be delivered during that week. This means the winner need not be present to win.
Safety Reminder:
Main Street will be open to traffic. Trick or Treaters should remain on the sidewalks and crosswalks at all times. There will be additional police presence in the downtown for increases safety, but all parents should be especially diligent about watching their own children so that no mishaps occur. We want everyone to stay safe and have FUN!
